Relating to the financial administration of the Public Defense Services Commission; declaring an emergency.

Abstract

Appropriates moneys from General Fund to Public Defense Services Commission for pre-entry pilot program. Directs Public Defense Services Commission to provide moneys to Metropolitan Public Defender Services if Metropolitan Public Defender Services establishes and administers pre-entry pilot program according to specifications, collects certain program data and submits data to commission. Directs commission to review data and to report on results of pilot program to interim committees of Legislative Assembly related to judiciary on or before February 1, 2019. Declares emergency, effective July 1, 2017.
